Your Fourth Month

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God...

We celebrated your infant Baptism on the 2nd of Decemeber 07 at the Church of Immaculate Heart of Mary. Mummy and I had agreed that it is important to sow the seed of faith in you from birth, so that you will experience God's perpetual love and guidance as you allow him to journey with you through life. Your grandparents and godparents were also there to witness this sacred moment.

As I watched the priest carefully pouring water over the back of your head and baptising you, I began to reminisce what he had said a week before, during our preparation for the baptism. He said, "This child is on loan to you by God and he belongs to Him. But God has chosen you both (mummy and daddy) as the best parents to be in his life." Although I have to confess that I did not received his words wholly, deep inside I know that you are a gift from God. And having to be your "earthly parents" it is only right that you get to know your heavenly Father too.
